Volkswagen XL1 The World Most Fuel Efficient Car 110 Km/L

Volkswagen gets away with powering the XL1 with a meek 47-hp 800cc two-cylinder TDI engine, 27-hp electric motor and lithium-ion battery. That small, rear-wheel-drive powertrain, in turn, contributes to the low weight. The entire drive unit, including the battery, weighs 500 pounds (227 kg), less than the Nissan Leaf's 660-pound (300-kg) battery and only 100 pounds (45 kg) more than the Chevy Volt's battery.
Armed with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG), the plug-in hybrid powertrain provides up to 32 miles (50 km) of all-electric driving. In electric mode, the engine is decoupled from the drivetrain, allowing the electric motor to act alone.

Kia Cross GT Concept CUV on show in Chicago

The Cross GT Concept CUV is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 hybrid powertrain with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive. It’s a variation of Kia's parallel hybrid system – which sees a pancake-shaped electric motor sandwiched between the V6 and the gearbox. The hybrid powertrain generates 400 bhp (298 kW) and 500 ft-lb (678 Nm) of torque and provides a range of 20 miles (32 km) in all-electric mode. However, all this is theoretical because the powertrain is still in the concept stage.

Alfa Romeo 4C at Geneva Motor Show

the 4C has a compact, powerful design that forms a tight, aerodynamic envelope for the engineering inside. The chassis is a carbon fiber structure with front and rear aluminum crash boxes, plus a hybrid steel and aluminum rear structure. Altogether, this produces a car with a strong downforce coefficient for stability at high speed.
This stability is important because the Alfa Romeo 4C weighs in at less than 850 kg (1874 lb), giving it a power to weight ratio in the supercar class of 4 kg/hp.
Inside the 4 m (13.1 ft) long 4C is a 4-cylinder, 1.75-liter engine currently found in the Quadrifoglio Verde version of the Giulietta. It has direct fuel injection, dual continuous variable valve timing, a turbocharger and a scavenging control system to remove any turbo lag. It puts out 237 bhp (178 Nm) for a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under five seconds.

Nissan NISMO versions of its JUKE and 370Z

The standard Nissan JUKE comes with a 188-horsepower 1.6-liter direct injection turbo engine, so there is actually a discernible difference in power.

Nissan debuted the 2014 370Z NISMO. It's set to go on sale this summer with the typical red-accented NISMO styling. The tweaked version of the 370Z comes with a 350-horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine to get it moving
